Battle of Britain clasp

This trio of medals are

  • Rt                            War Medal
  • Middle                  Air Crew Europe Star with Battle of Britain clasp
  • Lt                            1939-1945 Medal

It is of note because it contains the Battle of Britain clasp. Only 2936 people were eligible for this clasp.

The set were awarded posthumously to Frederick Cecil Harrold of the 7th Cambridge whose Hurricane was shot down on the 28th September 1940. He is also commemorated at St John’s Church Hills Road.

He is buried at St Andrews, Cherry Hinton.
