P Pack: Outline

Cambridge District Scout Archive

Downham (St Leonard)

19th Cambridge District Pack Downham (St Leonard) became P Pack at some point between June 1914 and transfer to the new Ely District in 1916. This was presumably at the start of the alphabetical naming system.

1st Grantchester

1916    1922 – 1926

A noted records the pack as being in existence from 1916 to 1922 before District registration.

Census numbers give the dates 1922 – 1926, from 1927 the advent of the Group system (1928) appears to have modified the returns.  The pack was registered locally April 10th 1922 and at IHQ on the 13th April 1922 with the number 5054.

The HQ Address was Grantchester School, the pack ‘Open’.

  • Annie Rolfe                             CM                  Warranted date 1917
  • Harold Searle                          Acting ACM

At registration the numbers were 5 Cubs, but with one leader.

The unresolved relationship with the Grantchester Troop is detailed in Troops and Groups/ District Troops/ Cambridge District 1st -10th/ 5th Cambridge District.
