Cambridge District Scout Archive
Mrs E E Cann was Lady Cubmaster of the 26th Cambridge and a member of the District Executive committee. In 1945 her name was put forward as being a casualty of war in the national scout gathering of information. Her fatal illness was, it was stated, was a direct result of working in the casualty ward. She was not registered on the Rolls of Honour.
The local reporting or the nationally determined parameters of the census also omitted or excluded Merchant seamen and POWs. Many names were missed in this census as lines of communication had broken down as Groups ceased functioning.
This is as full a record as I have seen.
