The Scout Jamboree is described in two local reports as 2000 (possibly Scouts and later Guides) or over a 1000 Scouts and 300 Wolf Cubs. In addition to those named above on the platform with B.-P. was E H Church District Chair, W V Varney Wood County Sec, Gen Hendley ADC and MD, Rev C A E Pollock.
The event was arranged by ADC T M Cherry and named troops involved were 5th, 8th, (Harvey Goodwin) 13th, Newmarket, Balsham (?), 23rd, 7th, and 4th Peterhouse. The 9th did the Music of the Stars – described as ‘sweet music’ and possibly choir based event. Rovers were present and B.-P. recalled being enrolled into the Cambridge University Rover Crew.
