Cambridge District Scout Archive
Archery is more equipment heavy than some sports and requires a large space. The interest shown in the, admittedly staged, picture below from 1935 is probably not merely that it is a ‘kaffir’ bow. Little is recorded and, unlike Marksmanship, it has never been a Proficiency Badge or a named part of the Master at Arms badge.

The less formal archery below is (top) from the 2nd Cambridge in 1934 and (below) 7th Cambridge four years later.

The District now has a named Archery leader and equipment. A District Archery competition is held and a team attends the National Scout Archery Competition at Phasels Wood each May.
